Giacomo Brunelli hails from Perugia. Born in 1977, he began taking an interest in the medium of photography at the age of 24. In 2003 Giacomo graduated in International Communication at "University for Foreigners of Perugia" and in 2004 attended a course in photojournalism at "Istituto Superiore di Fotografia" in Rome.
Giacomo was named as the UK Winner of the Magenta 'Flash Forwad 2009' group exhibition, which showed in the USA and Canada, and the recipient of other accolades including B&W Magazine Spotlight Award (2009), Nature Winner at the Sony World Photography Awards (2008), and 'Grand Prix of Fotofestival' of Lodz, Poland (2008). Giacomo's work can be found in galleries around the world including Art 101 in NYC and The Photographer's Gallery in London, and his Animals series has recently garnered worldwide attention and been published as a book by Dewi Lewis Publishing.
"When I was a child, at the age of ten-thirteen, I used to think about nature as a collection of animals. I loved them and I decided that I wanted to be a veterinary. It was funny to deal with surfaces made of hair and stink.
